NeoQuest II (aka NeoQuest 2, NQ2) is a game created by Neopets and is the even-better sequel to NeoQuest. This guide will contain minor spoilers--you will start with one party member and eventually recruit three more. When you view the skill guide, you will see these members and their abilities.
Before you start...
★ While the checklist walkthrough is complete, unlike the first guide, this page doesn't contain maps, monster or boss data. I will shamelessly refer you to Jellyneo's maps until this guide offers its own.
★ Unlike NeoQuest I, your NeoQuest II game is not linked to your active Neopet and does not reset if inactive, but you can only play one game at a time.
★ On this page, checkboxes will retain their checked state if you return to this page after it is closed.
Game modes
Complete normal mode to select evil mode. Bosses and enemies have more health (and possibly other increases in hidden stats). Enemies may drop equipment on Evil and Insane.
Complete evil mode to select insane mode. Enemies have even more health. Unlike NQ1, experience required to level up is the same for all modes. If all party members are defeated in a fight, you must reset your game.
Chapter 1: Meridell
★ Unlike NQ1, you cannot rapidly click the compass arrows to move quickly. However, if you use the provided userscript, you can use your keyboard to rapidly move tiles in sucession.
★ Your health is fully restored when you gain a level. Minimize potion use when close to leveling up. Otherwise, use them as you see fit both in and out of battle. They are commonly dropped, and they sold by NPCs.
★ Your mother will let you rest (heal you) for free. There are rest points (usually inns) in NQ2. A character is also fully healed when they level up. If your party is completely defeated on Normal or Evil difficulty, you will respawn at the last point you had rested.
★ Skills in NQ2 have some more depth, but, for the sake of simplicity, this guide will recommend just a single commonly preferred skill order, viewable by clicking Skills in the sidebar or the green text.
★ Every 7 tiles you move, you'll restore 1 HP.
★ In NQ2, boss fights start when you are on the tile next to the boss. In NQ1, boss fights start when you move onto the boss's tile. Be ready!
★ Throughout the game, you'll acquire armour and weapons with bonuses (e.g., +1 damage increase) from bosses. Sometimes, this equipment is not strictly better than your current equipment. Use your best judgement to decide whether a piece of equipment is worth using or should be sold.
★ It's probably worth resting at the inn to heal rather than using potions at this time in the game. If you're using the script, you can spam keypresses to get there quickly. Save any healing flasks (25hp) for the upcoming boss.
★ When fighting with Mipsy, don't use the red "Attack" button. You must select her spell to cast. As such, when you get new wands for Mipsy, the damage stat does not matter. Only the bonuses are relevant.
★ Up to this point, training has been similar to NQ1: we stay in an area and hunt until we can move further. From now, as long as you mostly hunt, you'll be the level you need to be without having to grind out levels.
★ Buying Awakening Potions now means you save money later. Stronger revive potions restore more HP but are much more expensive; the important part is the revive. If the guide suggests to buy potions, exclude revive potions.
Chapter 2: Terror Mountain
Chapter 3: The Lost Desert
Chapter 4: The Haunted Woods
★ You will start to acquire end-game equipment. For example, if you get a Staff of Mettle, its bonuses will max Velm's heal and shield abilities. You can then spend Velm's skills on haste and defence or Celestial Hammer (you may not need all of them, since your armour may have bonuses, too).
Chapter 5: Faerieland
★ You'll receive the Neoquest II - Devilpuss avatar for defeating Devilpuss.
★ Bionic Cybunnies begin to appear. You'll receive the Neoquest II - Bionic Cybunny avatar for defeating one. They will appear for a long time, so you don't need to hunt for one now.
★ Once level 60, you can attempt to flee all fights. However, fleeing is not guaranteed, and often it may been faster to fight instead.

You will notice not all points are spent as you approach higher levels. Your equipment will give bonuses to skills. The maximum points per skill is 15. Wait until you have your final equipment before spending the remaining points.

News
Last updated 2023-09-13
I have not seen any updates regarding the bug that occured in August. In other news, NeoQuest.Guide now has complete data on monsters, items, and skills. Data includes probabilities, max hits, drop chances, and more information not visible to the player during the course of the game.

A user's ticket received the reply by Alice W. confirming that all users were affected and that game data will not be recovered, but no official announcement has been made.

On 2023 August 24, a bug occured that reset the NeoQuest progress of every account.
Usually, games inactive for 1 year are cleared. The bug caused all games, even active ones, to be cleared.
Game data is unlikely to be recovered.
The Neopets Team has yet to comment on the incident.
